Regional Review: Ronnally’s Pizza of Woodbury is the best pizza you’ve never tried – but should

Let’s get right to the point. Ronnally's Pizza Best pizza in Woodbury

Ronnally’s Pizza of Woodbury is the best pizza restaurant that you’ve never been too. In fact, chances are you have driven by Ronnally’s and thought “we should go there some time” and then never do, or noticed it when you stopped to pick up Chinese food at Yang’s Chinese Restaurant – which many consider Woodbury’s best Asian restaurant. Ronnally’s Pizza has been around for over 40 years, and while new owners took it over a few years ago, they’ve kept it the same – and that’s a good thing – and it is the closest thing Inver Grove Heights residents will find to the old Pizza Factory in Inver Grove Heights anywhere in the Twin Cities.

Yes, Pizza Factory, not Old World Pizza. ronnallys_spaghetti

Ronnally’s Pizza is easy to miss because it’s located in a strip mall just off Valley Creek Road and Woodlane Road – an easy drive for Inver Grove Heights residents – but also easy to overlook because chances are when you drive to that part of Woodbury, you are heading somewhere else.

The thin crust pizza at Ronnally’s Pizza is cooked to crisp perfection and the old school ambiance of the restaurant brings you back to the Pizza Factory Fifth Avenue Plaza days. Ronnally’s Pizza in Woodbury also serves a variety of classic Italian pasta dishes (spaghetti/lasagna/more), appetizers (wings), salads, and sandwiches. The Mac and Cheese at Ronnally’s Pizza just took second place in the Chilihubub.com mac and cheese contest. It’s a full-service Italian restaurant backed with outstanding pizza. They don’t serve alcohol, but for a small hosting fee, allow you to bring alcohol and serve it to you at your table.

One Yelp! review from just a few weeks ago said this: ronnallys_cheese_bread

“Ronnally’s is the best place in Woodbury for Pizza and top 3 in the Twin Cities! If you are on the East Metro and have not tried Ronnally’s you are missing out.”

Another reviewer said this:

“Best Italian in Woodbury, and one of the best restaurants overall in Woodbury.”

Another review said:

“Such a cute restaurant with tons of history and character. The staff was so nice and welcoming when I walked in the door. I got the pizza and it was very cheesy and the sauce was delicious. Overall a great experience!”

The owners – Diane and Greg Ehlenz, are friendly, and the service is great. In fact, read this Pioneer Press article about the new owners and Ronnally’s Pizza – the oldest family restaurant in Woodbury.

Ronnally’s Pizza is just good pizza done right. Don’t drive by it, don’t think about it when going to Yang’s Chinese Restaurant, simply stop in and try it for yourself.

You won’t regret it.

Ronnally’s Pizza, 1560 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury, MN 55125.
