Little Asia Bowl opens at 11 a.m. On a recent Monday morning, there were eight people waiting outside the Inver Grove Heights Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant ready to order food.
We were one of them, and we now know why. Little Asia Bowl is good, and should be added to the go-to list of local Asian restaurants. One person can say a restaurant is good or bad, but don’t just take our word for it. The fact that eight people were waiting before the restaurant opened is proof others like it too. On this Monday the restaurant was also completing a large catering order the same time they opened the restaurant. Add to that, the restaurant has four out of five stars from 14 reviews on Yelp. These are all signs that the restaurant is doing something right.
Little Asia Bowl features a wide variety of items on its menu, along with the usual lunch combination options for $9.75. We ordered the two item lunch combo with Kung pao chicken, chicken with broccoli and lo Mein. This also comes with two cream cheese wontons, two chicken wings and a soda. It was a massive amount of food, and was all good. The lo Mein noodles are thin – more thin than Super Wok, for example. The combo platter items were all what you would hope for from standard Asian, Chinese, Cantonese or Vietnamese cuisine. But they all come with heaping portions, and taste delicious.
Other combo platter specials include sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, chicken in hot garlic sauce and many more, including daily specials. Appetizers include egg rolls, wings, dumplings and wontons. A wide variety of chicken, beef, shrimp and vegetarian dishes are all available as well as pan fried noodles, chow Mein and Pho.
Look, when it comes to the best Asian restaurants in Inver Grove Heights, it’s impossible to please everyone’s taste buds. What we do know is, IGH has some pretty good Asian restaurants and Little Asia Bowl is one of the best, if not the best. Super Wok is popular, and we recently discovered that A&L Chinese may be the hidden secret of the IGH Asian restaurant scene. Little Asia Bowl is well known, and popular. It’s also known for its Pho, and the combination meals are perfect for lunch.
Sure, you can go to Robert Street and check out Panda Express or Leann Chin’s. And of course, what would a local Asian-themed restaurant review without mentioning Peking Cafe? We get it. Locals love Peking Cafe. While Peking Cafe was once king of the local Asian restaurant scene, it’s not even in the top five of local Asian restaurants on our list of best Asian restaurants in Inver Grove Heights, South Saint Paul or West Saint Paul. But that’s what’s tough about reviewing Asian restaurants. Everyone is picky.
What we do know is that we ate at Little Asia Bowl and it was fantastic. We recommend you give it a try too. Seven others also did recently the same time we did, and it’s made it much longer than many other IGH restaurants, so they are doing something right.
You can’t go wrong ordering from Little Asia Bowl. Check it out.
