It’s ALDI, not ALDI’s, and it’s the most affordable grocery store in Inver Grove Heights. Is it the best grocery store in Inver Grove Heights? That’s up for debate and discussed further below.
But first things first, it’s ALDI. A-L-D-I. Not ALDI’s. Pronounced ALL DEE, not ALL DEEZ. What is up with that? Why do people insist on adding an S to the name ALDI?
“Do you go to ALDI’s?”
“I love shopping at ALDI’s!”
“They have great deals at ALDI’s!”
People do the same thing for B52 Burgers and Brew. People call it B52s. And when Buffalo Wild Wings was BW3, people called it BW3’s. Why is the s added?
It’s ALDI people, not ALDIs. And it’s the best place to buy affordable groceries in Inver Grove Heights. And the cashiers are friendly and fast so you can get in and out and on with things. In fact the fastest checkout lines in Dakota County are found at the Inver Grove Heights ALDI. And people who shop at ALDI are friendly too – how many times do you have one or two items and the people in front of you let you go in front of you? That happens all the time at ALDI. At Cub Foods, people are so frustrated at the lack of good food options and costs, they are rattled, weary and forget their manners. We can’t blame them, it’s frustrating to pay higher prices at the grocery store for basic, mediocre food options.
But, while we love ALDI, saying it’s the best grocery store in Inver Grove Heights would not be a major accomplishment since its chief competition is Cub Foods. And while ALDI is great for a lot of things – like affordable produce, cheaper meat and dairy, the same thing that makes ALDI great, makes it frustrating at times. While a typical supermarket carries about 30,000 items, ALDI sells only about 1,300 items. That smaller inventory means smaller stores, which leads to lower rent and electricity costs. That savings is passed on to the customer (us). But because you can’t get everything you need at ALDI you have to go to Cub Foods (read how you can get better food options at IGH Cub Foods), or to the Inver Grove Heights Target or Wal-Mart. And that’s what frustrating about the Inver Grove Heights grocery store market. Our options are limited. Very limited.
We know Trader Joe’s isn’t coming to Inver Grove Heights, and Hy-Vee also told Eat IGH they aren’t coming to the city. Rainbow is gone. Stephen’s isn’t coming back. Kowalski’s came and left and Lund’s and Byerly’s are too cool for IGH.
So it’s Cub Foods and ALDI. That’s ALDI, not ALDI’s. No s needed. And it the bet place to buy affordable grocerie in Inver Grove Height. As you can see, the s is sometimes needed – just not at the end of ALDI. ee you in the produce line oon!
