It’s that time of year: Inver Grove Heights Days is here, and takes place Friday, Sept. 8 through Sunday Sept. 10. There are a wide variety of activities all weekend long throughout IGH, including one that is sure to be a hit with the foodie:
The Taste of The Grove
The seventh annual event serves as a fundraiser for the Simley Theatre program and takes place Saturday Sept. 9th from 6-8 p.m. at Cahill Court at Simley High School.
During The Taste of the Grove Local restaurants donate taster-size portions of a favorite menu item, and entertainment is provided by Simley Theatre students. Tickets are $10 per person at the door or online at simleytheatre.org.
This year’s Taste of the Grove participants include:
Bierstube – Bratwurst and sauerkraut
Cub Foods – Brownie bites and water
Dairy Queen – Oreo and Reese’s Blizzards
Jersey’s Bar and Grill – Beef stroganoff
J’s Fish and Chicken – Gyros and chicken wings
Mississippi Pub – Not your mom’s meatloaf
Peterson’s Popcorn and Ice Cream – Gourmet popcorn
Old World Pizza – Sausage and pepperoni pizza
Overboard Bar and Grill – Chicken wings with homemade ranch and blue cheese dressing
Taqueria El Rincon – Pollo (chicken) and tortilla chips
So enjoy your Saturday at the IGH Days parade, and in the evening, before fireworks, head on over to Simley High School and sample some food from local restaurants/businesses. Not only will you leave full and satisfied, you will also be entertained, and support the highly-talented and hard-working students, teachers and volunteers that make up the Simley Theatre program.
