Work has begun on the first restaurant to come to the Argenta Hills region of Inver Grove Heights.
In addition, we also now know the name of the new restaurant:
A building permit card is now on the window of the restaurant at 7781 Amana Trail in Inver Grove Heights. The permit holder is listed as Jichu Chen LLC and the type of work is for Japanese Restaurant – IWA Sushi.
A closer look inside the building shows work has begun – but also that a lot more work needs to be done. The restaurant is located directly south of the Ideal Credit Union building and on the same side as McKeever Dermatology Clinics. The space is huge – over 2,000 square feet, and it’s going to be a big restaurants when complete.
“The city is always excited about new restaurants, but especially one that offers a new cuisine,” said Tom Link, Econonic Development Director for the City of Inver Grove Heights.
We don’t know much more about IWA Sushi, other than that there is a restaurant of a similar name – IWA Sushi and Grill, in Wenatchee, Washington. Eat IGH called that location and two employees of the IWA Sushi and Grill in Washington said this isn’t the same restaurant. Additional searches have not come up with any more information. A contact at McGough Construction, the company that manages Argenta Hills, said the owner of IWA Sushi has information to contact Eat IGH and will do when ready.
The process has been slow, but there has been progress. First we found a restaurant was coming to the Argenta Hills development of Inver Grove Heights. Then we found out, through our friendly neighbors in Argenta Hills, that it was going to be a sushi restaurant. And now, a sign on the building clearly identifies the name of the restaurant:
