Food For Thought: Random thoughts and musings on the IGH food scene

  1. Love Old World Pizza. Liked the old location better. The ambiance of the new space is missing something. The back room feels like you’re sitting in the cafeteria of an old folks home.
  2. Why do all Carbone’s BUT the one in Inver Grove Heights have spaghetti and meatballs?
  3. How long will TC Taco last? Especially with the opening of the nearby El Rincon Mexicano (review coming soon – quick tip – check it out now) and the opening of El Azteca, also coming soon (we think)?
  4. Does Celts really cook their own pizzas or is Mort just pulling a fast one on us? Side note, Mort and Ronnie rule!
  5. Why do people call B52 Burgers and Brew B52s? It’s just B52. Must be the same people who call Buffalo Wild Wings BW3’s, or the one’s who call Cub Cubs.
  6. I really enjoyed the Cherry Berry era.
  7.  Head on down to the Mississippi River, the former Drifters Bar is now open under a new name. More to come (including the actual name).
  8. The Bierstube. Warm beer. Average food. Mediocre service. Good people.
  9. Is anyone really ever happy after ordering the salad bar from Ruby Tuesday’s?
  10. J’s Fish and Chicken: Everything is pretty good – but the fish and chicken. Try the philly and the gyro.
