The Bierstube is back!
Okay, it never really went anywhere, but the popular Inver Grove Heights bar/restaurant we once recognized as having warm beer and cold service has made a comeback – especially for lunch, and more specifically, the Thursday steak special. The service at the Bierstube has improved greatly and the new staff is friendly, fun and prompt.
On a recent Thursday we were able to get a lunch for two for under $20 (kind of). This includes the Thursday steak special, which includes a juicy, cooked-to-order six ounce sirloin steak with two sides for $11. We love the classic lunch/dinner salad with French dressing, and classic baked potato (other sides are also available). The only complaint is that they take the butter packets – and who knows who/what touches those butter packets – and put it inside the steamy hot potato that we will eat. The toasted/buttered French roll is a great sidekick to the lunch, which is filling and satisfying.
We also enjoyed the prime rib sandwich, which is served with fries for only $8. So two items for under $20 (no drinks included), but that final total comes to over $20 after tax and tip, and each time we’ve been to the Bierstube on Thursdays the daytime server has deserved a great tip.
The Larry’s steak special – the all-time classic Inver Grove Heights Bierstube lunch or dinner choice, is available for $10. This lunch special includes a 10 ounce sirloin steak and fries only.
Be sure to also check out the happy hour specials at the Bierstube in Inver Grove Heights. An order of 10 bone-in wings, brat medallions, mini tacos or breaded mushrooms are only $6 each.
The Bierstube has been open longer than any other Inver Grove Heights restaurant in the city besides the bar/restaurant at Drkula’s. The Stube has a fun and friendly group of regulars, and is very popular with Inver Grove Heights residents. The burgers, appetizers, entrees, authentic German dishes, and other specials are all good (try the colossal shrimp, with buffalo sauce, for a great appetizer) and with improved service (and finally, cold beer), has made a comeback. Some of you may have never left, some of you haven’t been there for a while.
But check out the Bierstube again sometime soon – you will be glad you did.
